Hey ya’ll!
Just wanted to give a quick update on the where we are in the design and development on our projects.
Scale Tower is basically done! And as you may have seen, the Scale Tower page is also live and running under our game section. We are now going to have some external tests running for the next coming weeks, and the game should be out on the App Store some time in late May.
After a 30 second meeting, we decided that Bublé will be put on hold for a little while. We want to focus on Project: FoM as we will be having an Annonce officielle du jeu vidéo soon and we will be presenting some awesome art work and stuff at Nordic Game. Also we will be announcing that a special person from the land previously known as the British Colonies of the North America, with an extensive track record from Sierra On-Line will be joining the project to write dialogue and story, as well as serve as a game design sparring partner for my part, which is nice!
Sooooooooo, this means the whole studio will be working 100% on Project: FoM from henceforth.
I will end this update with some fine words from the gentlemen known as The Beastie Boys, which I think sum this post up perfectly. (And I want to put the Quote System on trial!)
Said, “doc what’s the condition
I’m a man that’s on a mission”
Said, “son, you’d better listen
Stuck in your ass
Is an electrician” – The Beastie Boys, 2004

All design updates from now on, will be focused on various aspects from Project: FoM.
Hey guys! I couldn’t be worse than Hans Kristian who posted his awesome armor sculpt in the last post. So here’s my Friday Art Update with some building sketches to show where I start out before rendering and stuff:
And a couple of finished ones based on the sketches Frits showed you in this post:
Have a great weekend guys!

Hey guys!
Thought I’d share the latest sculpture I’ve been working on for the last few days. You’ll find the concept for this one further down the page. He’s going to get textured and animated later of course! This is just the raw high poly model from our sculpting program, Zbrush!
Stay tuned for more!

Ok, so I’ll post one last piece of weapon concept art before showing some ther stuff. This one is my favorite though, so I saved it for last! It’s the gun that the main character, Amon, will be using. I got to design it, so I’m pretty stoked about this one!
Hans Kristian has made the 3D model, and it just needs a little touchup on the textures, then he’ll post that so you can compare the concept art to the 3D model (it’s pretty sweet!)
Have a great weekend guys!

Hey guys! Couldn’t call it quits on a Friday without posting some more concept art!
Here is another of the spudgun weapon designs:
Have a great weekend everyone!

Some sturdy armor for the brutal arena fights!
Since this is a development blog we will try to share as much as we can without spoiling too much of the story and setting. So I think it’s fitting to start off with some early sketches from the FoM’s very infancy.
We are currently getting our hands dirty with what we decided to call an art prototype; basically putting together specific scenes and characters and experimenting with effects, lighting, animations etc. in Unity 3D. This is a great way for us to find the perfect pipeline, workflow and tools, while the design team is hard at work figuring out the technical stuff.
Hopefully we have something goosebumpingly cool to showcase this summer. Stay tuned!
Hello again, guys! I was tasked with coming up with some weapons for Project FoM, and I do like me some weapon concept art! You too, I hear you say? Yes? Yes!
Here is the very first one I made:
And some of the sketches and thumbnails. A few more of these have made it to a more finished state as well! I’ll post some more weapons soon!
Hello world!
I’m the 3D Artist at SnowCastle games. I’m responsible for all the 3D Characters and props for our games.
Right now I’m working on a new version of the cute little companion, Gnart! He’ll be helping our main character in battle!
This is just the block-in stage – But we figured it might be interesting for some of you to see the process behind doing a character like this.
At this point it’s just a digital sculpture, hence the clay like material! He’s gonna get all furry and cute in the end.
I’ll be posting more images later on. Peace out!
-Hans Kristian
Hey guys! I’m working on concept art for the main battle area in Project FoM these days, so Frits and me figured I should share some stuff so you guys can get in on the process early on!
I wanted to share some sketches and paintings I did a while ago for the arena area:
Some sketches for balconies and such for the arena interior:
A worksheet for the arena exterior:
And this piece that gave us the first idea about the battle scenario:

We decided against this look however, and wanted to go in a more organic direction for the general look of the arena, with like houses mounted on walls and weird nooks and balconies and such for the spectators to look out from, so here’s the new direction I did:
And the promo piece I based on the concept art above:

As of today I’m working, among other things, on separate modules which we will produce in 3D and build the area wall from. I’ll be posting some production concept art when I get them done!
Hope you guys dig, and I’ll check back in soon!
- Fredrik
